Giant Choir Will Perform on the Steps of St. Isaac's Cathedral
On May 24th, a grand choir of St. Petersburg totaling 3,000 people, accompanied by the Bolshoy Symphony Orchestra will give a concert on the steps of St. Isaac's Cathedral.
The concert will be dedicated to the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture, and will be comprised of 3,000 participants, including veterans, students, school children, arts professionals and amateurs.
The performance of a grand joint choir under the direction of conductor of the Smolny Cathedral Chamber Choir, Vladimir Begletsov, will feature 17 familiar Soviet songs.
The grand choir will perform in St. Petersburg for the third year in a row. In 2013, on the steps of St. Isaac's Cathedral, performed about 5,000 singers, so the event is in the Guinness Book for World Records.
