Victory Day Street Decorations
This year, in addition to the prosaic ribbons, flags and banners in the city, there will be also be unusual street decorations. For example, white cranes will soar over the Fontanka river and Griboyedov Canal, airostats will fly over the Peter and Paul Fortress, portraits of soldiers will hang along Nevsky prospekt.
Along with the ordinary May 9th street decorations, St. Petersburg will see some unusual installations and will arrange a variety of multimedia projects.
On the main street of the city, residents and guests to Saint Petersburg will see posters of soldiers, marshals and admirals who led the Russian army to Victory over the enemy.
The unusual composition will be seen on the Fontanka river and over the Griboyedov canal, which will have huge white cranes floating in the air, and the Peter and Paul Fortress will be adorned with huge balloons (aerostats) along with victory day banners.
88 posters glorifying the heroism of veterans will appear at the metro stations. Audio congratulations will also be heard.
