A Pool on the Beach of Peter and Paul Fortress
The city of St. Petersburg is planning to open an outdoor floating pool directly in the Neva River.
Urban activists offered the vice-governor of St. Petersburg, Igor Albin, an interesting reconstruction plan for the beach at the Peter and Paul fortress. According to the plan, on the beach will set an unusual floating pool. The pool will be placed directly into the Neva River and will be surrounded by floating wooden decks.
In addition, as part of the reconstruction plan, there will be many benches and footpaths installed on the beach. For the youngest visitors, activists propose that the beach should be equipped with a modern playground.
The press service of Smolny noted that the reconstruction of the fortress’s beach is planned to take place in 2015-2016. This improvement will not affect the view of the historic fortress.
